Joseph Clyde "Clyde" Marks, Jr., 80, of Hopewell, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Sr. and Ivey Marks; and his brother, Sterling Marks.
Clyde enjoyed a variety of sports, his favorite team being the Commanders. Aside from football, he also enjoyed playing and watching softball, as well as Little League. Clyde also liked to fish, and he enjoyed spending time with his family relaxing at his second home down at Ed Allen's Campground, where he and his wife had a residence for 30 years. Clyde had a knack for fixing things, most notably his '65 Mustang. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
Clyde is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Janice Marks; daughters, Cathy Arpaia (Don) and Pam Wallace (Dale); grandchildren, Wade Wallace, Josh Wallace, Hunter Arpaia, and Trevor Arpaia; nephews, Scott Marks and Michael Ellison (Julie); nieces, Kelly Richards and Kim Strubel (Rick); great-nephews, Brandon Ellison (Julia) and Remington Strubel (Tia); great-niece, Audrey Rose (Frank); sister-in-law, Virginia Spain; and a host of extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 29, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 820 W. Broadway Avenue. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, 11302 Merchants Hope Road, Hopewell.
