Joseph Howell Phelps

Joseph Howell Phelps, 83, of Chester, passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2018. Born in Pitt County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Joseph L. Phelps and Beatrice Norris Pruett. He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Nancy Phelps; daughter, Cindy Mitchell; and step-son, Wayne McDaniel. He is survived by two daughters, Bobbie Rodrigues (Joe) and Debra K. Hudson (Joe); step-sons, Joe McDaniel, Farron McDaniel (Kaye), Tommy McDaniel (Samantha), and Michael McDaniel; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and niece, Sammy Smith (Elvis). Joe was employed with Allied Chemical retiring after many years of service. He was an avid fisherman. Joe will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
