Joseph “Emmett” Reese went home on Friday, May 27, 2016 at Southside Regional Medical Center. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. Born in Dinwiddie County to Wrenn Moss Reese and Annie Belle White Reese. Emmett graduated from Dinwiddie High School and worked in the paint business for 45 years. He was presently employed by Virginia Paint in Richmond as Industrial Manager. He was a devoted and faithful Deacon at Immanuel Baptist Church in Colonial Heights. Emmett loved participating in Disaster Relief and mission trips to Lake Placid and Saranac Lake, NY. His favorite pastime was fishing. He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra, two loving daughters, Jessica and Erica Reese of Dinwiddie, a special grandson, Payton Lee Reese, two devoted sisters, Maxine Reese Looney and husband, Terry of Chester, and Frances Reese Henshaw and husband, Raymond of Dinwiddie, and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Immanuel Baptist Church, followed by interment at Southlawn Memorial Park.
