Joseph Neal Thomas, Jr.

Joseph "Joey" Neal Thomas, Jr., of Prince George, VA, passed away Friday, April 29, 2022 after a brief battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Gloria Clary Morsell and SGM William "Bill" Charles Morsell, Jr., US Army Retired, and father, Joseph N Thomas, Sr.
He is survived by a daughter, Catrina Marie Gunter, FL; aunts, Margie Clary, Prince George, VA, Jean Trevillian, Glen Burnie, MD, Marjorie Tucker Clary, Falls Church, VA; uncle, Frankie Clary (Patsy), Disputanta, VA; and numerous cousins and friends.
Joey grew up in and around Richmond, VA and Jefferson City, MI. He was well versed in auto mechanics and repairs. He ventured out into the construction industry, working in various crafts including lawn care. After his stepfather suffered a debilitating stroke, he dedicated himself as their designated driver until their deaths. In late 2021, Joey was diagnosed with incurable cancer which ultimately took his life.
A graveside funeral will be conducted on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Appomattox Cemetery, Hopewell, VA. Donations may be made to your favorite charity. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
