Joseph William Wells

Joseph William Wells, 73, of Prince George, passed away Saturday, November 08, 2014 at his residence. Born in Ivor, VA, he was the son of the late James Everett and Effie Bryant Wells. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Gordon Wells, three brothers, Jim Everett Wells, Robert Wells and Martin S. Wells, and two sisters, Annie Peden and Mary Swinson. Mr. Wells was a member of Charity Baptist Church and a retired Employee of Brenco. He was an avid dancer, fisherman and gardener. He is survived by his children, Joyce “Jody” Whalen, Peggy A. Diego and husband, Jessie, Thomas C. Wall and wife, Anna, and Robert J. Wall and wife, Barbara; grandchildren, Will Williams, Carol Anne O’Berry, Sandra Frost, Chris Diego and wife, Jennifer, Tiffany Tate and husband, Chris, and Thomas Joseph Wall; great-grandchildren, Ethan Burgess, Aaron Burgess, Connor Frost, Payton Frost, Caleb Diego and Jaxon Diego; great-great-grandchild, Cameron Tate; a sister, Emily Bradley and husband, Earl, a large extended family and many friends. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 11, at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service with Pastor Wayne Henry officiating. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
