Joy Blanche Mayes

Joy Blanche Mayes, 63, of Chester, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2017. She was preceded in death by her father, Harry Leonard Matthews Sr. Joy had a love for animals, especially her two pets, Harley and Cammy. She also enjoyed spending time shopping online. She is survived by her husband, John B. Mayes, Jr; son, Matthew LaCasse (Heather) from Dalton, MA; mother, Elizabeth “Betty” Matthews; step-son, Brandon C. Mayes (Jackie); four grandchildren, Cailey Hurley, Alec Adlakha, Steven Hinkley, Jr., and Jameson Mayes; six brothers, Harry Leonard Matthews, Jr. (Jody), Dean Alan Matthews (Margaret), Brian Lee Matthews (Cynthia), Donald Paul Matthews (Jennifer Marlin), Barry Eugene Matthews and David Bruce Matthews; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Park.
