Joyce Ragsdale Bishop

Joyce Ann Ragsdale Bishop, 83, of Dinwiddie, VA, left us to be with Jesus on March 16, 2023. She was born in Chesterfield, VA, on May 27, 1939, to Archer Raymond Ragsdale and Annie Lona Clark Ragsdale, later Lona Ragsdale Puckett. She was predeceased by both parents; as well as her brother, Clyde Perry Ragsdale and his wife, Marie Sirry Ragsdale; her husband, John Roland Bishop; and her brother-in-law, E. Garland Bishop, Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth Sirry Bishop.

Joyce is survived by her four nieces and their husbands, Sherie Ragsdale Kennedy (Stan), Becky Ragsdale O'Connor (Kevin), Lori Ragsdale Harrington (John), and Sandra Bishop Underhill (Louis); great-nieces, great-nephews, and special friends, Bunny and Faye Talbot. Joyce served the Lord in her devotion to her husband, her family, her job at Titmus in Petersburg, VA for 45 years, and her church family. Her smile, jokes, laughter, and tireless volunteering for church activities are just a few of the many qualities we will miss. Her dedication and loyalty will be remembered by all who had the blessing of being her relative or friend. A graveside service will be held at 3 PM, on Friday, March 24, 2023, at Southlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pine Grove Baptist Church, 22218 Dabney Mill Road, North Dinwiddie, VA 23803, in memory of Joyce Bishop.
