Joyce Hinson Boswell

On September 9, 2023, Joyce Hinson Boswell, from Dinwiddie County, departed from this earth; she was welcomed to her eternal home with God. At almost 84 years old, she leaves behind a legacy in the hearts and lives of family and friends. She was a faithful wife and mother, especially to all the family and children that considered her their "second mother." She loved to sew leaving a tremendous legacy of "made with love" clothing. She loved children and faithfully led Children's Church for many years including making and leading a puppet ministry. And she was a fantastic cook with many years of wonderful meal memories for family and church. She has touched the lives of those around her and will be missed by many.

Joyce has now joined her family that has gone before her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Ruth Hinson; brother, Earl; and husband, John Boswell. She leaves behind the family that she built - sons, Marvin Boswell (Tania), Brian Boswell (Kim), and Alan Boswell (Laura); granddaughters, Rebecca Coffman (Joel), Amanda Clapcich (Michael), Brianna Froloshka (Stefan), Hunter Boswell, and Brette Ladd; grandsons, David Boswell, Sean Boswell, and Holden Boswell; great-grandchildren, Samuel, Daniel, and Susanna; sister, Nancy Hamilton (Eric); and brothers, Phillip, Alton (Barbara), David (Kathy), and their families.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM, at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home - Dinwiddie, 6616 Boydton Plank Road, where a funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM; with Rev. Brian Boswell officiating. Interment will follow at Smith Grove Cemetery, 8301 Smith Grove Lane, N. Dinwiddie.
