Joyce Burijon Hazlegrove

Joyce Burijon Hazlegrove, 87, of Prince George, passed away on, Monday November 13, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Effie Mae Warthan Burijon; her loving husband of 69 years, Jean G. Hazlegrove Sr.; and her grandson, Lee Hazlegrove. Joyce was a longtime member of West End Presbyterian Church, where she played the organ, piano, and keyboard for many years. She loved to crochet and make afghans for everyone. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Joyce was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Joyce is survived by her sons, Jean “Woody” Hazlegrove Jr. and his wife Vickey, Dane Hazlegrove and his wife, Debbie, Dale Hazlegrove and his wife, Doris, Brett Hazlegrove and his wife, Janet; 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; brothers, Bobby Burijon, Ronnie Burijon and his wife, Jane; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends including her church family. The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at West End Presbyterian Church 1600 Atlantic St, Hopewell, VA 23860. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Friday, November 17, 2017 at the church, with interment to follow in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens.
