Joyce Anne Marie Jones

Joyce Anne Marie Jones, 92, of Chester, VA, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023. Born in Richmond, VA, she was the daughter of the late James Thomas and Mary Bagley Carroll; and was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Philip Legerton Jones, Sr.; one stepson, Garland "Nick" Jones; and five siblings, Doris Hall, James Carroll, Phillip Carroll, Charles Carroll, and Margaret Gregory. Mrs. Jones is survived by her nine children, Lecia Jones, Holly Huth (David), Kimberly Schuchart (Keith), Mary Chocklett (Garrett), Toby Jones (Kimberly), Monica Wilkerson (Sean), Forrest Jones (Sherry), Barnaby Jones (Andria), and Brad Jones; one stepson, Philip "Bubba" Jones (Barbara); thirty grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Kathleen "Kitty" Carroll; and too many loving nieces and nephews to count. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Wayne Ball, celebrant. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Joyce Jones.
