Joyce Morrissette

Joyce Morris Morrissette, age 73, of Colonial Heights, VA, died on Friday, December 26, 2008. She was born in Powhatan, VA, the daughter of the late Joe L. and Emma White Morris, and was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kayla N. Morrissette. Mrs. Morrissette retired from Roses in 1990 after 20 years of service. She was also a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Colonial Heights. Mrs. Morrissette is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Hartwell V. Morrissette, Jr.; three sons, Allen and wife, Ann of Prince George, VA, Douglas and wife, Christi of Chester, VA, and James and Wife, Debbie of Dinwiddie, VA; a daughter, Gloria Galton and husband, Jeff of Chester; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Mary Watson of Powhatan, and Goldie Nixon of Cumberland, VA; three brothers, Joe Morris of Powhatan, and Henry and Russell Morris of Cumberland; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Chesterfield chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Monday, December 29, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. Graveside funeral services will follow on Tuesday, December 30, at 10 a.m. in the Forest Lawn Cemetery, 4000 Pilots Lane, Richmond, VA 23222.
