Joyce Leighton Wood

Joyce Leighton Wood, 89, of Hopewell, VA, passed away, Wednesday, October 28, 2020.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Henry and Kathleen Kessler Leighton; husband, Jack B. Wood; and grandson, Russ Tatum.
Joyce was a loyal member of First Baptist Church of Hopewell.
She is survived by her children, Cindy, Jackie, Judy, Terry and Katie; grandchildren, Tracie, Michael, Sybil, Mary Catherine, Jack, Adam, Josh, and Jaime; five great-grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren; three sisters, JoAnn (Carmen), Darlene, and Ernestine; one brother, Michael (Rita).
A graveside service will be held, 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at Bermuda Memorial Park with Rev. Darrell Boggs officiating.
The family would like to thank the staff at Chippenham Medical Center and Dr. Laurie Lavery for their kindness and care shown toward Mrs. Wood.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to, First Baptist Church, 401 N. 2nd Ave. Hopewell, VA 23860.
