Morris Beckwith Crowder, Jr., 59, of Colonial Heights passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2010. He was the son of the late Morris Beckwith Crowder, Sr. and Florence Wells Crowder. Morris graduated from Petersburg High School in 1969 and attended Richard Bland College. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and a former member of Memorial United Methodist Church serving in many areas such as pianist in Church School Department, served as Secretary-Treasurer of the United Methodist Men, and served on the Administrative Board. He was also an active member of the Circus Fans Association of America, member of the Kay Brothers Tent No. 21 CFA â?? Colonial Heights/Petersburg, charter member of the Kenneth Feld Tent No. 150 CFA â?? Northern Virginia, member of the Circus Historical Society of America and of the Circus World Museum. Morris was a laboratory technician for E. I. Dupont in Richmond for 38 years, as well as an associate of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home in Petersburg. Morris is survived by his sisters, Susan C. James and her husband, H. Edward James and Crystal C. Kvasnicka and her husband, Gary W. Kvasnicka; nephew, Kevin W. Kvasnicka; niece, Michelle A. Kvasnicka and a number of aunts and uncles. The family will receive friends at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service, tonight, Friday, February 26, 2010 from 6 to 8 pm. A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Southlawn Memorial Park.
