William Eugene â??Billâ? Palmer, Jr, 88, of Hopewell, died January 29, 2008 in Riverview on the Appomattox.. He was born in Salisbury, North Carolina. Mr. Palmer served in the U. S. Army during WW 11., a retired foreman for Allied Chemical Corp., a member of Powers Memorial Baptist Church and Woodman of the World. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Eugene and Loucile Bearnhardt Palmer, and his wife Doris Reid Palmer. Surviving are his daughter, Dolores P. Browder and husband Bernie of Chester, a son, William E. â??Billâ? Palmer, 111 and wife Janet of Chester, two granddaughters, Kristine Jackson & husband David of Prince George, Dana Palmer of Chester, two grandsons, Bernie Browder, Jr. & wife Teresa of Hopewell, and Brad Browder of Chester, nine great-grandchildren, Josh, Austin, Caroline, Grace, Landon Browder, Lily Jackson, Christopher and Andrea Heekin , Nephew, Dr. John Pope, wife Alice & son John , daughter Kristen of Colonial Heights, five nieces, Barbara Ann Grabowski & husband Walter, Carol Howerton and husband Zig, Tudy Midyette, Harriett Gibbs and husband Richard and Karen Gibbs, brother-in-law, Ray Reid and wife Jo of Hopewell and sister-in-law Alma Neal of North Carolina. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 31, 2008 from 6-7:30 P.M. in the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Friday, February 1, 2008 at 11:00 A. M. in the funeral home chapel with Elder Bernie Browder, officiating. Interment will be in Bermuda Memorial Park, Chester. Condolences may be registered with www.jtmorriss.com
