Edward C. Chevalier, Jr., age 74, a native of North Syracuse, New York and a resident of Prince George County, Virginia, died February 5, 2011 at Southside Regional Medical Center. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Gail F. Chevalier; a son, John E. Chevalier and wife, Karen of Kountze, Texas; two daughters, Lori A. Chevalier of Hopewell, Virginia and Julie C. Walton and husband Michael of Prince George, Virginia; three grandchildren, Joshua E. Chevalier, Meagan N. Chevalier and Jonathan M. Walton. He received his B.S. in Chemistry from Clarkson University, Potsdam, NY and completed graduate studies at the University of Maryland at College Park and Clarkson University. He was a retired chemist and manager from Allied Signal Corporation and Rollins Environmental Services, Inc. A Past National President of the International Management Council, past recipient of Hopewellâ??s Religious Leader of the Year Award, a Life Member of the Historic Hopewell Foundation, and a Prince George County Election Official. Ed was an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Hopewell, VA. He also performed with numerous choral groups, including the Chesterfield County Choral Society, Wesley UMC Choir, the Ginter Park UMC Messiah Chorus and sang Lead with the Four Winds Barbershop Chorus. The family will receive friends at the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 10, 2011 with interment to follow at Bermuda Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, Hopewell VA. Condolences to the family may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
