Floyd Raymond â??Beanieâ? Childs, Jr., died while resting peacefully at his home Monday, September 11, 2006. Born in Chesterfield County, he was the son of the late Floyd Raymond and Otelia Fisher Childs. He was a graduate of the Petersburg High School class of 1955, a U. S. Marine Corp. veteran, and a retired employee of Bell Atlantic after 34 years. He was the greatest husband, brother, father, grandfather, and guardian to Scrapper dog. In his retirement, he enjoyed caring for Scrapper, riding his motorcycles, and numerous other hobbies. Throughout his entire life, he always enjoyed putting a smile on the faces of everyone he came in contact with, ESPECIALLY MAKING THEM LAUGH! Mr. Childs was preceded in death by his wife, Louise H. Childs and his sister, Carol Anne Leahey. He is survived by his brother, Wayne Childs and wife, Betty; his sons, Brian Childs and wife, Margaret and Daryl Childs; grandchildren, Nathan Childs, Rachel Childs and Meagan Childs and her mother, Kimberly Hairfield; uncle, Copeland Fisher; cousin, Douglas P. Fisher, Jr. and numerous other cousins, nieces and nephews including, Johnny Wicks, Mindy Caison, and Mickey Childs. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday, September 14, at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
