E. D. Lee Lingerfelt, Jr. 79, of Dinwiddie County, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2006. Born in Dinwiddie, he was the son of the late E. D. Lee, Sr. and Nettie Prue Taylor Lingerfelt. He was an employee of Orkin Exterminators for over twenty years before founding United Termite & Pest Control, which he operated until his retirement. He was a member of Kenwood United Methodist Church. Mr. Lingerfelt was preceded in death by a daughter, Anita L. Hatton. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Olivia S. Lingerfelt; grandchildren, Angela Hatton Poarch and husband, Edward R. Poarch, Jr. of Dinwiddie and Jennifer L. Hatton of Mechanicsville; great-grandson, Bryson Poarch; sisters, Mattie Hudgins of Hopewell and Alice Kennedy of Richmond; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, August 18, at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service with the Rev. Todd Smith, Pastor of Kenwood United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 PM Thursday, at the funeral home.
