Jr., D. Maxey

Henry Duiguid â??HDâ?? Maxey, Jr., 72, of Chesterfield County passed away suddenly on May 12, 2006. Mr. Maxey was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Duiguid Maxey, Sr., and Ruth Perry Maxey and by his wife of forty-six years, Shirley Holmes Maxey. Mr. Maxey passed away eleven days after the death of his wife. He is survived by his four children, Alan H Maxey and his wife Diane of Mechanicsville, VA, Brenda M. Vay and her husband Bryan of Chester, VA, Sheri L. Jordan and her husband Jamie of Powhatan, VA and Kathy G. Hayden and her husband Bruce of Leesburg, VA; twelve grandchildren, Cameron, Chase, Meredith, Hunter, Eric, Lindsey, Owen, Emily, Andrew, Zachary, Tyler, and Caroline; one brother, Winston P. Maxey and his wife Pat of Richmond, VA, three brothers-in law, Raymond T. Holmes and his wife Evelyn of Amelia, VA, Preston T. Holmes and his wife Rachel of Chesterfield, and Stuart E. Holmes of Chesterfield; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. Maxey was retired from Philip Morris and was a long-standing member of Bon Air Baptist Church. He was also a member of ACAC (formerly Riverside Wellness and Fitness Center). Mr. Maxeyâ??s children would like to thank his friends and his church community for their love and support during the illness and subsequent passing of his wife, Shirley. He had a difficult time accepting her death; may they rest in peace together. A Memorial Service and a reception following the service will be held at Bon Air Baptist Church on Tuesday May 16, 2006 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his honor to the Coalition on Donation, 700 North 4th Street, Richmond, VA 23219.
