Morrison Godfrey, Jr. â??Popâ?, 79 of Prince George went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 5, 2007. Pop was a veteran who served his country in the U.S. Army for over 20 years. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Vaughnie A. Godfrey; sons, Edward Ray Smith and wife, Kathy, Charles Edward Smith and Phyllis McKay, Vaughn Edward Smith and David Ray Smith and wife, Cynthia; brothers, Norman Godfrey and Cecile Godfrey both of Ohio; sisters, Iva Reeves of Michigan and Frances Hippenstill of Indiana and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other family members. The family will receive friends at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service on Thursday, November 8, 2007 from 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held of Friday, November 9, 2007 at 11 am at the funeral home with the Rev. Arthur Lands officiating. Interment will be private.
