Irving H. Pritchett, Jr., 82, of Prince George, Virginia, passed away on November 22, 2006, after losing his battle with cancer. He leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Frances B. Pritchett of Petersburg, three children, Irving H. Pritchett, III and wife Doris of Dinwiddie, Virginia, Lanford Pritchett of Castle Rock, Colorado, and Alice Crain and husband Dave of Palmer Lake, Colorado. He also leaves four grandchildren: Dave Crichton, Scott Crichton, Chandler Pritchett, and Austin Pritchett. Mr. Pritchett was born and raised in Petersburg, Virginia, where he lived until 1969 when he moved to Prince George. He graduated from the University of Virginia in 1949 after returning from his World War II assignment as a member of the Army Air Corps flying â??the Hump.â? After graduation, he went to work for State Farm Insurance, where he spent his entire 40-year career. He enjoyed bridge, fishing, hunting, and spending time at his cottage on the James River at Rushmere. A memorial service will be held at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service at 2 pm Sunday, November 25, 2006. The family will receive friends following the service. A private interment will be at Blandford Cemetery where he will join his parents, Irving H. Pritchett, Sr., and Alice Ezelle Pritchett, and his sister, Margaret (Toot) Bragg.
