Jr., L. Gray

Oscar Lee Gray, Jr., 70, of Chester went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 12, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family and friends. He was raised in Southampton County, VA, the son of the late Oscar L. Gray, Sr. and Anna Catherine Cutchins Gray. Mr. Gray was a past member and Deacon at Chester Baptist Church and a current member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church. Mr. Gray retired from VDOT after 43 years as a transportation planning engineer and was able to see his projects become a reality. He loved his work and the people he worked with who became a part of his family. He was loved and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Gray of Chester; sons, Antony T. Gray of Jacksonville, FL, Jeffrey L. Gray of Hampton Roads, VA and special family son, Timothy Holden of Jacksonville, FL; special aunt, Marion Nano of Plymouth, NC as well as other aunts and wonderful cousins. The family will receive friends at the Chesterfield Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service on Sunday, February 14, 2010 from 3 to 5 pm. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Monday, February 15, 2010 at Chester Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
