Hobert L. Russell, Jr. 88, of Disputanta, passed away Friday March 25, 2011. He was predeceased by his parents, Hobert L., Sr. & Martha Ola Graham Russell: brothers, Ralph & Rufus Russell. Hobert was a Principal in the Virginia School System for 35 years, a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church, the Rives Ruritan Club of Disputanta, and was an avid Gardner. He received his Masters Degree from The University of Virginia, served in the United States Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater with the Amphibious Forces aboard the L.C.I. 224. Hobert is survived by his wife of 63 years Ruth H. Russell, son; Steven D. & wife Brenda of Dinwiddie, daughters; Pamela R. Stell & husband, Lee of Chesterfield, Robin Russell of Sedley, grandchildren; Tony Stell, Doug Russell, Felicia Burruss & husband Chris all of Chesterfield, great-granddaughter; Shelby Stell, brother; James E. Russell & wife Mary Edna of Greenback TN., brother-in-law; James A. Henderson & wife Jean of Cleveland TN., numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday March 28, 2011 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service, a memorial service will be held Tuesday March 29, 2011 at 4:00 PM in St. Marks United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gretchen Nelson and Rev.
