Jr., L. "Trig" Carpenter

CARPENTER Jr., Charlie Lee "Trig", 71, of Hopewell, Va., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 18, 2010. Mr. Carpenter was born on August 26, 1938, in Lumberton, NC to the late Charlie and Annie Carpenter. He has made Hopewell his home since 1964. He is survived by his son Steven and his wife Andrea of Powhatan; son David and his wife Jennifer of Colonial Heights; and daughter Sarah and her husband Ricky of Hopewell; his children's mother Linda Lee Massey; six grandchildren, Morgan, Lauren, Nick, Matthew, Audrey and Dillyn;
sisters, Evelyn, Mary, Sandra, Elizabeth; and brothers, Dewey, Kenneth, and Bobby. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Jessie Mae, Sarah Kathryn and Willie Lee. Charlie was a loving brother, husband, father and Pa Pa. He was an active member of Calvary's Love Ministries in Hopewell. He was the happiest when surrounded by his family, friends and his church. Mr. Carpenter was a loving, kind-hearted and gentle man. He loved to tell stories and share his experiences and will be missed dearly by his family and everyone who knew him. His deep faith, unconditional love, and joy for life will be his lasting legacy. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, August 20, 2010 at the Hopewell Chapel of J. T .Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Calvary's Love Ministries with Pastor Rocky Shearin officiating. Internment will be in the Appomattox Cemetery, Hopewell, VA.
