Jr., P. Phillips

Edison Plummer Phillips, Jr. age 84 of Petersburg died Thursday, August 11, 2004. He was the son of the late Edison P. Phillips, Sr. and Blanche Kidd Phillips, a lifetime Petersburg resident, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a retired plant accountant with Continental Can Co. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Skelton Phillips; a daughter, Nancy Phillips Mason and her husband, Joseph T. of Charlottesville; two granddaughters, Kate and Sara Mason of Charlottesville; a sister, Ann P. Tyler of Petersburg. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. Friday, August 13 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 14 at Blandford Cemetery with the Reverend Betsy Basehore officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 215 S. Sycamore St., Petersburg, VA 23803.
