The Rev. Ernest C. â??Billâ? Priddy, Jr., 80, of Petersburg, passed away Monday, December 31, 2007. Rev. Priddy served Belmont, St. Luke and Asbury Memorial United Methodist Churches in Richmond prior to serving as District Superintendent of the Eastern Shore District. He later served as minister of Washington Street and Blandford United Methodist Churches in Petersburg. He was in the United Methodist ministry for 43 years. Rev. Priddy served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 2, a 50 year member of Manchester Lodge No. 14 A.F. & A.M., a member of the Colonial Heights, VA Historical Commission, and served on the board of John Tyler Community College. He was a former Trustee of the Virginia Wesleyan College and served on various other boards and agencies, both church and civic. He is survived by his wife, Linda Mason; son, Ernest C. Priddy, III and wife, Pat; daughter, Elizabeth P. Pointek; step-daughter, Lauren Hertell and husband, Darren; grandson, Michael J. Priddy and wife, Erika; several nieces and nephews; his church family and many close friends. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM Friday, January 11, 2008 at Blandford United Methodist Church with Rev. Tony Layman, Rev. Mary White, and Rev. Jack Martin officiating .
