Leslie S. Wright, Jr. died the evening of Saturday, May 1, 2010. He was born on March 15, 1936, in Baltimore, MD to Leslie S. Wright, Sr. and Fannye Elly Wright. He is survived by Mary L. Wright; Leslie S. Wright, III; sister, Pamela W. Williams and her husband, Rick; niece, Stacey and nephew, Shawn and their families; cousins, Bonnie and Pat and his dog, Jake, beloved JRT. After WWII, his family settled in Herndon, VA. Les completed his studies in Chemical Engineering at Virginia Tech and John Hopkins University. During this time, Les served in the U.S. Army. Les married Mary in June of 1967, and they spent several years on the Northern Neck. After that they moved around Canada, the South and Midwest, especially Michigan, when Les decided to seek new job opportunities. Their most important person, Leslie, III arrived on November 1, 1979 and completely awed his parents. Les loved his family, his friends, Virginia Tech and a good story. He enjoyed the companionship of all his good buddies wherever he found himself. Les was a member of St. Michaelâ??s, Eagles Aerie #882, and American Legion Post 284. He was currently working as a chemical engineer at Richmond Metal Finishing, Inc. The family would like to thank the staff at MCV/VCU Health Systems for the compassionate care that Les received while he was there. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at St. Michaels Episcopal Church, 501 Old Town Drive, Colonial Heights with the Rev. Tige Newell officiating. Memorial donations may be made to St. Michaels and Colonial Heights Animal Shelter. The family is being served by the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service where condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
