Juan Nauta Gofigan, 61, of Richmond passed away May 8, 2010. He was the son of the late Juan and Maria Nauta Quitugua. Mr. Gofigan was also preceded in death by his adoptive parents Ramon Quinata and Pauline Nauta Gofigan, and several siblings. Juan was a member of the Catholic Church of Guam. He was employed as a Supply Management Specialist at the Defense Supply Center Richmond (DSCR). He was an avid sports lover, especially the New York Yankees. Juan loved to cook, and enjoyed eating hot and spicy foods to share with family and friends. His greatest joy was his grandkids; he loved them all very much. He will be greatly missed by the entire family. Mr. Gofigan is survived by his wife, Darlene E. Gofigan; six children, William Jones and wife, Jeannie of Pa., Catherine Gofigan and husband, Richard of Tx., John Gofigan, of HI., Earl Stoner and wife, Angela of Goochland, Jonathan Gofigan and fiance, Christy of Richmond, Cindy Hawkins and husband, Sheldon of Il.; ten grandchildren, Corey and Travis Jones, Christopher, Cariena, Richard, and Ryan Gofigan, Dylan Stoner, Chalandria and husband, Justin Shoulders, Christabel and Camelita Hawkins; one great granddaughter, Lylah Shoulders; 2 sisters, Faye Manibusan and Rose Quitugua both of Guam; 5 brothers, Eddie, David, Albert Quitugua all of Guam, Anthony Quitugua of Va., and Joseph Gofigan of Ca. A mass of the resurrection will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday May 15, 2010 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, Va. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
