Judith C. Funk died on April 7, 2024. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, William and Louise Cable; her husband, William Henry Funk, III; and her son, William Henry Funk IV. At the time of death, Judy had been a long time resident of St. Mary's Woods in Richmond, where she made many friends and kept busy as a volunteer, advocate and event organizer. Judy was a devout Catholic and worked as a financial secretary for her church in Danville. She was an avid tennis player, walker, and antique collector. She had a special place in her heart for Sacred Heart Catholic School in Danville, and for the residents and staff at St. Mary's Woods. Judy also had an appreciation of Virginia history, and took pride in the fact that she was married at Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Richmond and would be buried near historic Blandford Church in Petersburg. Judy was a wonderful conversationalist and took a personal interest in everyone she met. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 pm, on Monday, April 22, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Petersburg, with interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
