Judith Sloan Harvey

Judith Sloan Harvey, 71, of Chester, VA, died Monday, March 18, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Laura Hurt Sloan; her husband, Stephen A. Harvey; and her aunt, Elizabeth Hudson. Judith was a lifelong member of Chester Baptist Church and a retired loan officer with Signet Bank. She was active in various civic groups, such as Chester Rotary Club, Chester Lions Club, and Chester Women’s Club. She enjoyed many good times spent camping at Thousand Trails Campground on the Piankatank River. Most of all, she will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by a son, Joseph A. Harvey (Amanda); a daughter, Angela E. Gorman (Donny); grandchildren, Laura Beth and Guy Harvey, J.D. and Hayden Gorman; a brother, Carl Judson Sloan of Seattle, WA. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at Chester Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following the service.
