Julia Ameen

Julia Watkins Ameen, 82, of Hopewell, died, Wednesday, February 11, 2004 in John Randolph Medical Center. She was born in Sutherland, Virginia. Mrs. Ameen was a retired Medical Technologist with the VA Medical Center of Richmond, Va., a member of First United Methodist Church and Methodist Woman’s Club, a volunteer with the ladies auxiliary of John Randolph Medical Center and the Woman’s Club of Hopewell. Mrs. Ameen was predeceased by her parents, Ashby and Julia Reames Watkins, and her husband, Jameil Ameen. Surviving are her daughters, Jamelle Barnes of Raleigh, NC, Roma Lackey of Colonial Heights, Va. and Elizabeth Feighner of Laurel, MD., a son, William Ameen of Manassas, Va. and eleven grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday, February 13, 2004 in the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home from 7-8:30 PM. A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 14, 2004 at 11 AM in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Bill Wash, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating Interment will be in the Appomattox Cemetery.
