Julia Snead Harris, age 91, of Chester, passed away on May 27, 2016. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, the Chester Garden Club, many bridge groups and the Chester YMCA. She enjoyed working with Michael S. Doran, CPA for many years. She loved her family and the yearly family vacations, playing bridge, traveling, exercising, gardening and arranging flowers.
She is survived by her children Alvin F. Harris III, Anne (Roger) Stimson and Paul S. (Robyn) Harris; her grandchildren Martha (Mark) Kametches, A. F. Harris IV, John (Susan) Stimson, David (Susan) Stimson, Paul Harris II, and Michael Harris; her great-grandchildren Catherine Kametches, Parker Kametches, Jack Stimson and Hannah Stimson. She is also survived by her much loved nieces Martha (Steven) Fornash, Julia (Fredrick) Morrison, and Sallie (James) Bryant, and nephew Paul (Marty) McBroom.
She is predeceased by her parents, Paul Winn Snead and Martha Creager Snead; her husband, A. Franklin Harris, Jr.; her sisters Sallie (Sam) McBroom and her twin, Martha Jane (Emmett) Harris; and her daughter-in-law Harriet Noble Harris.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 13, 2016 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Chester with a short reception to follow in the parish hall.
