Julia Hazel Pulley, 82, of Hopewell, died Monday, March 27, 2006 at her residence. She was born in Burnswick County, Va., and had been a resident of Hopewell for many years. Mrs. Pulley was a member of First United Methodist Church and was a retired telephone operator for C & P Telephone Co. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clinton and Maggie Powers Mayton, and her husband, Franklin Rudolph Pulley. Surviving are her daughter, Peggy P. Ford and husband Stuart, grand-daughter, Wendy D. McCallum and husband J. Russell, great-grandchildren, Madison S. McCallum and J. Kegan McCallum all of Richmond, Va., a sister, Ruth E. Drewery and husband Harry of Franklin, Va. two nephews, David W. Carter of Hopewell and Ronald A. Carter of New York. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 29, 2006 from 7-8:30 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held March 30 2006 at 2PM in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Dr. Bill Wash, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating.
