June Arthur Haynes-Garrett

June Haynes-Garrett, 90, of Chester, VA, passed away quietly at home on Saturday, June 4, 2022.
She was born and raised in Brookneal, VA and was the daughter of the late Wesley and Ida Arthur.
She had been an active member of Chester United Methodist Church, multiple garden clubs, and the Chester Rotary Club. She was a national flower show judge and had been a member and president of multiple garden clubs. She was the first woman president of the Chester Rotary Club and received the Rotarian of the Year award.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Acord and her husband, Don; her grandsons, Ben Fabian and his wife, Trina, Sam Fabian, Jason Williamson and his wife, Susan, Brandon Williamson and his wife, Kristin. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Haynes; her second husband, Forrest Garrett; daughters, Wanda Williamson and Donna Haynes; son, Wesley Haynes; brother, James Arthur; and her parents, Wesley and Ida Arthur.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 20, 2022 at 10:00 am at Chester United Methodist Church. Family visitation will be Sunday, June 19, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at J.T. Morriss & Son - Chester Chapel. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
