June Waldron Heath

January 24, 1952 — April 17, 2024

June Waldron Heath, 72, of Prince George, passed away on April 17, 2024, after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Sendai, Japan, on January 24, 1952, June is preceded in death by her parents Francis and Sachiko Waldron; as well as her siblings, Bucky Waldron and Dee Dee Sarnosky.

After graduating from Prince George High School, June met the love of her life, Ronnie Heath, and celebrated 53 years of marriage. After being set up by her future mother-in-law at work, it was love at first sight and they were married within six months. They loved taking trips to Nags Head, watching Dancing with the Stars, and General Hospital, spoiling their dogs, and enjoying a simple, quiet life together.

Being one of six children, June always wanted a large family of her own. She took great pride in being Mama to Allison Heath, Heather Heath Bridgman, and Ashley Johnson. She made sure her girls had the coolest lunches, had a cheerleader, and most importantly, knew how to use their voice.

Her greatest joy was being grandmother to Corey Bridgman, Kate Bridgman, and Ronnie Liz Johnson. She attended every school event, dance recital and competition, cross country meet, and tennis match. Everyone on the team knew and celebrated Grandma Heath's contributions to the team with her famous cookies on a stick. She welcomed Corey's wife, Ashleigh, into her fold and loved her as if she were her own.

Her latest pride and joy arrived in September when she became great-grandmother to Gentry Bridgman. She was thrilled at the opportunity to take care of him as Corey and Ashleigh went back to work. Thursdays and Fridays became her favorite days of the week as she knew she could have all the hugs and cuddles.

Family has always been important to June, especially her siblings. The second of six children, June felt a strong connection with her remaining brothers, Frank Waldron, Joe Waldron, and John Waldron and wife, Kim. Their infectious laughter, a dominant Waldron trait, often filled a room. Teresa and David Irvin, her sister and brother-in-law by marriage, provided many happy memories. June also had several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who filled her life with love. She also cherished her church family. Over the years, she taught Sunday school, participated in the United Methodist Women, worked countless dinners and stews, and even dressed up as the Easter Bunny.

There is no denying that being fur mama to Ziva and Bailey may have been the highlight of each day for her. Each new dog that came along became more spoiled than the next. They were nap partners on the couch and a comfort to her in her final weeks.

June loved baking. Her pound cakes, cookies on a stick, poofs, and teddy bear rice krispie treats are legendary. She also loved sewing. Her blankets are on so many cribs and couches of friends and families. She never said no when someone asked her to make one and there were endless treks to JoAnn Fabrics. She made countless blankets for the patients at the Children's Hospital at VCU. During the pandemic, she sewed hundreds of masks for family and friends. There was a mask for every holiday and occasion. She was a NASCAR enthusiast and never missed a race. She loved Bobby Labonte, Kyle Larson, and Chase Elliott and loved talking trash about Denny Hamlin even more. An avid Jeeper, she waved at every other Jeep driver on the road. She loved Patrick Mahomes and loved that the rest of her family did not, even making bets with Ashley and cashing in when she lost. She was a Lady Gaga little monster and Beatlemaniac. Ringo was her favorite; Paul was not. When she was passionate about something, you knew it.
