June Martin Lucy

June Martin Lucy, 67, of Chester, VA, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2023. He was born on February 1, 1956, in Henrico, VA to Robert Elder and Elaine Jones Lucy, where they raised him in Brunswick County, VA. June attended Brunswick County High School and graduated in the class of 1975. He retired from Dupont after working almost 40 years. June was a loving husband, father, brother, and everyone's friend. He loved the outdoors and spending time with his family. You could always catch June 4-wheeling with the kids, fishing or hunting with his son, Jared, or driving his daughter, Jenna, wherever she needed or wanted to go. He was an easy-going man with a caring heart, his own dictionary of words, love of God, love of food, and loved to keep up with current news of the world.
June was preceded in death by Robert Elder Lucy (father), Elaine Jones Lucy (Mother) and Robert Elder Lucy Jr. (brother). He is survived by his wife, Diane Lucy; his son, Robert Jared Lucy; and daughter, Jenna Elaine Lucy; sister, JoAnn Lucy; sister-in-law, Linda Lucy; nephew, Andy Lucy; niece, Kristen Lucy Moseley (Larry); and great-nephews, Matthew Moseley and Nathan Moseley; and a ton of in-laws.
The funeral service will be held at J.T. Morriss & Son of Chester, VA., at 4:00 p.m., Friday, July 21, 2023, with family and friends visitation being held after the service until 6:00 p.m. There will be a private burial Saturday July 22, 2023. Liberty Cemetery, Dolphin, Va. at 11:00 a.m.
