Karen Aldridge Bornstein, age 61, of Disputanta, died on November 14, 2014. She was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Snead Aldridge and her sister-in-law, Bessie Aldridge. Karen worked as a registered nurse as a Liver Transplant Coordinator at MCV/VCU for many years. Mrs. Bornstein was a life member of Prince George Emergency Crew, a volunteer for James River Greyhounds, a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church and an avid runner. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Max L. Bornstein; son, Charles D. Bornstein of Chester; brothers, Gary Aldridge and wife Sandra of Prince George, Allen Aldridge and wife Darla of Disputanta, and Bruce Aldridge of Prince George; aunt, Virginia Inez Aldridge; grandson, Chase Bornstein of Colonial Heights; special friends, Irene Sutton of Virginia Beach and Doug Webb of Dinwiddie; four canine babies also several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 17, 2014 from 6:00 P.M to 8:00 P.M. at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at St. Marks United Methodist Church, 225 Claremont Street, Petersburg, VA 23805 on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 2:00 P.M., with burial to follow in Southlawn Memorial Park.
