Karen Lee Lessard

Karen Lee Lessard, 65, of Disputanta, passed away on January 17, 2015. Born in Modesto, California, she was the daughter of the late Stanley T. and Velma Molles Andrews; and was also preceded in death by her sister, Debra Lynn Dobyns. Mrs. Lessard was a graduate of the College of San Mateo in California. She was retired from Fort Lee after 40 years of civil service. She had most recently worked as a secretary for the Combined Arms Support Command and Force Development Directorate. Mrs. Lessard collected dolls and stamps, enjoyed doing needlework, loved visiting with her women’s group, walks around the neighborhood and home improvement shows. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Alan Lessard and wife Becky; two grandchildren, Ashlie Marie Lessard and Sean Michael Lessard; four siblings, Frances Louise Harmon, Stanley Taylor Andrews, Janene Lenore Malatesta and Kristie Lorraine Sandoval; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
