Karen E. (Hanlon) Marsh, 76, passed away peacefully at home on August 15, 2022 after a brief illness.
Born and raised in New Jersey, Karen moved to Chester, Virginia in 2004 and made it her home. Karen served as a Nurse in the US Navy; she made nursing a lifelong career during which she touched and improved many lives. She was an avid quilter, loved "puttering" in her yard, bluegrass, and her cats, Autumn and Cali.
Karen is predeceased by her husband, Craig Marsh; and her parents, James and Virginia Hanlon. She is survived by her son, Thomas Phelps (Aimee Russell); and granddaughters, Alysha and Izabella, of Maynardville, TN; daughter, Theresa J. Manderski (Richard); and grandchildren, Caitlin and William, of Midlothian, VA; son, James Phelps (Gail Riley); and granddaughters, Skylar and Cheyenne, of Vinita, OK; and son, Joseph Phelps (Wendy Rose); and grandchildren, Joseph Jr., Elijah and Gabrielle, of New Iberia, LA; as well as her beloved aunt, Dorothy Curly; and sister, Terry Hills.
