Karen was born on August 30, 1957, in Long Island, New York, where she spent her early childhood until her family moved to Hopewell, Virginia, when she was around 10 years old. Karen graduated from Hopewell High School in 1975. She became a Registered Nurse in 1992, and lovingly cared for her patients for over 30 years. Karen specialized in NICU and mother and infant care, which brought her much joy and fulfillment. Karen obtained her Master's of Nursing degree in 2012, and shifted to a leadership role in numerous hospitals, which she equally enjoyed.

Karen's greatest joy was time spent with her family and she was happiest when surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She dedicated her life to serving the needs of others, with a giving heart and a strong faith. Karen was a beloved wife, an incredible mother, a devoted Nana, and a cherished sister, aunt, and friend to many. Karen was also a skilled seamstress, loved crafting, and especially enjoyed trips to the beach where she collected seashells.

Karen will be missed immensely by all who knew her. We know she is now at peace with her Lord and Savior and no longer suffering.
