Katherine Davis Hepburn

HEPBURN, Katherine Eugenia Davis, age 93, of Chesterfield County, died Friday, August 26, 2011. Born in Petersburg, Va., on November 25, 1917, the daughter of the late John Richard and Eva Roach Davis. Katherine's late husband, Ira Spurgeon Hepburn Jr., preceded her in death on March 12, 2007. They were married for 58 years. She is survived by a son, David H. Hepburn and wife, Holly, of Lynchburg, Va.; daughters, Barbara H. Williams and husband, John D. Williams, of Woodbridge, Va., and Carolyn McAndrew, of Georgetown, Texas. Katherine was also the loving grandmother to four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Katherine was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a seamstress and worked making clothing for the troops during World War II. Katherine was a long time member of Salem Baptist Church, in Chesterfield County. A funeral service will be conducted, at 2 p.m., Wednesday, August 31, at the Chesterfield Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service, followed by a private interment service. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
