Katherine Burrow Hackett

Katherine Burrow Hackett, 63, passed away on September 22, 2021 after a period of declining health. She is predeceased by her parents, Edwin Warren Burrow and Lillian Hawthorne Burrow. She is survived by her children, Walter Craig Bartholomew (Maeghan), Jodi Sue Hackett, Jeffery Hunter Hackett; granddaughters, Payton Mae and Baby Piper Sue Bartholomew; sisters, Brenda B. Schraner (Terry), JoAnne B. Davis (Henry), Edwina B. Shortt (Charlie), and Rebecca B. Kirk (Stewart); eight nieces and nephews and thirteen great nieces and nephews; three special friends, Liz Ramsey Clark, Denise Pugh Jernigan and Patty Raney Grigg. Kathy was a member of Newville United Methodist Church and held many positions at the Church but gained fame with her Church fundraiser Chicken Salad. Kathy was a single parent raising her three children. “KaKa” also opened her doors to care for other small children and for other families. After retirement from Standard Motor Products, she began sitting with several elderly people in the community. She enjoyed life and was known as the life of the party. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Prince George Fire and EMS, PO Box 68, Prince George, VA 23875 or Newville United Methodist Church, 9010 Hines Road, Disputanta, VA 23842. The family is being served by the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at J.T.
