Katherine Ann Jones

Katherine "Kathy" Bishop Jones, 61, of Chester, Virginia, passed away surrounded by loved ones on January 15, 2024. Born in Petersburg, Virginia, on September 4, 1962. She is survived by her beloved husband, Wayne, whom she was married to for 15 years; her father, Curtis Dennis; brothers, Tommy Beckner, Darin Bishop; sisters, Cheryl Lee, and Donna Barron. Kathy left behind her son, Mark Porter; and daughter-in-love, Sharon; and step-son, Michael, his wife, Kayla, and their son, Timmy. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. She was predeceased by her mother, Ann (Turner) Dennis; and her brothers, Rodney Dennis and Steve Turner.

Kathy was a strong matriarch who cherished her family and friends. Her faith was celebrated in every aspect of her life. She was active in her church, LIFE CO, by teaching preschool and serving others in the community. When going on trips, you would always catch her with a camera taking photos of God's wonders. She served her county for approximately 30 years, most recently as a civilian employee with the Chesterfield County Police Department.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, January 26, 2024, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, VA.
