Katherine Hnarakis Perelas

Katherine H. Perelas, 94, of Vienna, VA, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019. Born and raised in Hopewell, VA, she was the daughter of the late Emanuel and Bessie Hnarakis. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and enjoyed singing and music. She was also an avid supporter of the humane treatment of animals and regularly donated to several charitable organizations. She is survived by her children, Ann, Valerie, John and Maria; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brother, Gus and sister, Mary, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ms. Perelas was preceded in death by brothers George and Harry and sisters Freda and Helen. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at St. Elpis Greek Orthodox Church, 108 Memorial Ave, Hopewell, VA 23860. Interment will follow at Appomattox Cemetery in Hopewell, VA. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Rosa’s Italian Ristorante, 4098 Oaklawn Blvd, Hopewell, VA 23860.
