Kathryn Jacobs Giles

Kathryn “Peggy” Jacobs Giles, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 5, 2013. She was born on February 28, 1936 in Hopewell, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband, George; her parents, Gertrude and Ottie Jacobs; her sister, Helen J. Erdman; and her daughter, Judy Compton. She is survived by three children, Paul H. Giles, Martha Giles Sledd, and George Peter Giles; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers, William (Shirley) and Calvin (Joan); six nieces, Kathryn E. Johnston, Patricia E. Sykes, Susan E. Miller, Mary E. Comfort, Tracey J. Smallwood, and Elisa J. Norris; as well as numerous great nieces and nephews. Peggy was a resident of Fairfax County for the past fifty years. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed her daily walks with friends. She was very generous to others and often shared her homemade treats with them. She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 8 at Sunset Memorial Park, 2901 W. Hundred Road, Chester, VA 23831.
