Kathryn Edwards Ryan

Kathryn Edwards Ryan, of Colonial Heights, VA, was brought into her heavenly home on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, while surrounded by her loving family.

Kathy was born on April 11, 1955, in Petersburg, VA, to Lucille H. Edwards and Joseph F. Edwards (Tink). Kathy loved her family immensely and enjoyed every moment that was spent with them. She loved her horses tremendously and thoroughly enjoyed riding, especially Dressage. Kathy is preceded in death by her father, Joseph F. Edwards (Tink). She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband, William L. Ryan (Bill); three dear children, Kristina Ryan, Michael Ryan (Meggie O'Brien), and Colin Ryan (Theresa Ryan); two very special grandkids, Henry Ryan and Patrick Ryan; her mother, Lucille Edwards; sister, Denise Edwards; and brother, David Edwards. Kathy also had an amazing work family at Southside Hospital working as a Board Certified Lab Technician. Her Soul Sisters were very dear to her as well

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, with Pastor Terry Clark of Wesley United Methodist Church officiating. The burial following will be a private event. A Celebration of Life will follow on a later date, invites will follow with more details.

The family acknowledges with deep appreciation all your thoughtfulness, calls, prayers, cards, and food.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to Central Virginia Horse Rescue, via PayPal through their website. The family also requested that donations can be made to Southside Emergency Crew at PO Box 1808 Petersburg VA 23804.
