The only scars in heaven are the hands that hold you now.
Kathy Abernathy Stiltoner passed away peacefully in her home in Prince George, VA, on Friday, May 27, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
Kathy was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister, and great friend. Kathy was a graduate from Hopewell High School in 1980, and from there she started her career at Defense Supply Center, Richmond, where she retired from in 2020. Kathy enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow, and spending time with her children.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Terry Stiltoner; her sister, Denise Harris; her three daughters, Courtney Sharpf (Matthew), Brittney Marine (Adam), and Kaitlyn Cothron; her eight grandchildren, Gaige Stone, Brayden Marine, Thomas Cothron, Brielle Ingram, Bristol Ingram, Karson Marine, Haislee Burton, and Gentry Sharpf; and numerous family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Barbara "Bobbie" and Thomas "Abby" Abernathy; her grandmother, Lola Gregory; and her niece, Amy Harris. What a glorious day this was to be reunited with those passed, and to see Jesus face to face, where there is no more pain and suffering.
A celebration of life will be held at 4:00 p.m., on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Flowers are welcome, or contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 1724 E. Parham Rd. Richmond, VA 23228, in memory of Kathy Stiltoner.
