Katrina Y. Flores, age 71, of Chester, Virginia, skipped into Heaven on Sunday, December 31, 2023, surrounded by her three children and loving family. Katrina was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, and raised in Hopewell, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late, C. Ray & Juanita Hensley, of Hopewell, Virginia. She is survived by her son, Manuel Flores III (Cindy); daughters, Melissa Green (Simon) and Amanda Bulifant (Rick); grandchildren, Isabelle and Kennedy (Rue Rue) were her life. She is also survived by her sister and best friend, Renee Sisson (Greg); nephew, Gavin Sisson; and niece/honorary daughter, Ashleigh Jones and her children, Ethan & Keeley Spain. Katrina spent her life dedicated to serving others. She was a loving and compassionate nurse (RN) at John Randolph Hospital for the majority of her career. She enjoyed serving at West End Presbyterian Church in Hopewell and had the fondest memories of her time with the Pioneer Girls. She spent her life dedicated to her family, children, and grandchildren. Katrina had the kindest spirit and most loving arms that she used to comfort anyone needing a hug. While Katrina loved the beach, her true happy place was anywhere she could find a dog to pet and love on. She spent her entire life loving God and showing the love of Jesus to everyone she met. She leaves behind an extraordinary legacy of traditions, love, and laughter that her family will continue to pass on to future generations.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m., on Friday, January 5, 2024, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens in Prince George, Virginia, where she will be laid to rest next to her loving parents. Her family welcomes friends to visit and share memories and stories of Katrina from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at the funeral home.
