Kay Lynn Eggleston Eure, 66, passed away on August 27, 2024. She lost her five month battle with Acute Myloid Leukemia. She was born and raised in Hopewell, VA, by the late John and Rachel Eggleston. She is also preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Anne Eure.
Kay loved camping, time at the beach, fishing, and trips to the mountains. She enjoyed roaming around Antique shops while on her trips to the mountains. Her special love was watching her granddaughters play softball and riding horses. Kay stayed active helping around the horse barn when possible with her son, Michael. Kay cherished her girlfriends that she exercised with, went shopping with, and took trips with. She will be sorely missed by everyone that interacted with her. Kay loved her flowers that she planted every spring and faithfully watered and pampered throughout the summer.
She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, James Eure, Jr.; her children, Andy (Donna) and Michael and his partner, Bryan; her grandchildren, Bristol and Macon; her brothers, Keith (Frances) and Kenny (Stephanie); her sisters-in-law, Therese, Mary Anne, and Cathy; her nephew, Kevin; nieces, Kelly and Sara (Nathan); as well as numerous other family and loving friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 6-8 p.m., at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024, at 11 a.m., at the same location, with procession to follow at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family ask for donations to be made in Kay's name to Leukemia Research Foundation.
