Kay Martin

Kay W. Martin, 84, of Chesterfield, VA, fell asleep in death Sunday, February 19, 2023. She was preceded in death, by just 21 days, by her husband of 67 years, Oscar A. Martin, Jr.; her parents, Leman and Rachel Whitaker; and two grandchildren, Asia Adkins and Matt Pratt. She is survived by her son, Allen Martin (Joyce); daughter, Rita Wells (Mike); daughter, Lisa Pratt (Mike); grandchildren, Shannon Christopher, Michael Pratt (Amanda), Mitchell Pratt (Amy), Chris Wells (Ashley), and Chris Cook; great-grandchildren, Hayden & Rylee Pratt, Caden and Kayleigh Wells, and Spencer Cook; brother, Leon Whitaker (Linda); sister, Jean Marlette (Darrell). Kay was a true lady. She was strong but dignified, a faithful wife, loving mother, and quietly did things for others. She served her God Jehovah for 59 years waiting for all his wonderful promises to be fulfilled. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 27, 2023, at J.T. Morriss & Son- Chester Chapel 3050 W. Hundred Rd. Chester, VA 23831 **Please wear a mask if you plan on attending visitation inside the funeral home**.
