Ken Brown

Ken Allen Brown, of Chester, VA, died on Monday, January 21, 2008. Born in Roanoke, VA, he was the son of the late Russell A. and Nona J. Brown. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Don A. Brown. Ken was a veteran of the U. S. Army and recipient of the Bronze Star during the Korean War. He was a devoted member of Ironbridge Baptist Church and a former member of the Chester Masonic Lodge #99. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Barbara A. Brown; daughters, Patricia L. Brown and Susan Lynne Perdue, both of Hopewell, VA; grandchildren, Barbara Lynne, Tyler Allen, Katherine Leigh, and Victoria Elizabeth, all of Hopewell; sisters-in-law, Emma B. Gupton of Charleston, SC, Carol B. Cohen of Longboat Key, FL, Sue A. Brown of Atlanta, GA; sister, Joann B. Basham of Roanoke, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Chesterfield chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service on Wednesday, January 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will follow there on Thursday, at 2 p.m. Interment will be held on Friday, at 1 p.m. in Sherwood Burial Park, Salem, VA.
